  • Resolved katierobinson

Hi – I am trying to link from my nav bar straight to a full post. I do not want to show a page with an excerpt and a read more link. I know I am supposed to replace the_excerpt() with the_content. Unfortunately I can’t find this anywhere in the code. When I view the source code of one of the excerpt pages online then I see the the_excerpt in the code. I have searched all of my .php files in the appearance editor.

I am using Tutoralicious as my theme and excerpt is spelled excrept throughout the pages. I have searched it both ways and see nothing? When I view the source code it is spelled the_excrept – so it is consistently spelled wrong. So I don’t think the spelling is the problem.

Here is a link to my home page. If you click on the OUR PROCESS link on the nav bar it will bring up the excerpt page and then if you click the read more it will bring up the full content page.

If anyone can help I would be VERY VERY APPRECIATIVE!!!!!!!

  • The author of this theme created a file named excrept.php and uses it to show excerpts.

Try this: make a copy of single.php and name it category-1.php. If it works, do a similar thing for each of the categories you want to show full page.

Thanks I will give it a try. I totally appreciate it.

Ok – I did exactly what you said – and it worked!!!!!! You are amazing! I spent hours and hours and got nowhere. Thank you!!!!

Now I have a dumb question – you said if it works to do a similar thing for the other categories I wanted to show a full page on. I want all them to sow a full page. So how do I label the files?? category-2.php, etc… I tried that and only the Our Process page is working. I don’t know how the other category pages are labeled???? I realize this is a simple thing – but have no clue. AGAIN THANKS!!!!!!!!! A MILLION!

Nevermind!!! I just had not made all 6 category pages! You are AWESOME!!!!

Glad you got it to work! Now, please use the dropdown at top right to mark this topic ‘Resolved’.
