Support » Networking WordPress » How do I set up 3 sites as subdirectories on a single domain with WP?

I have already built a site (goelzerinc.com) and now we want to build 2 more sites that will use the same theme with slight differences to header and site colors. I’d like the sites to be in subdirectories so that it looks like this:

    1. goelzerinc.com/site1
    2. goelzerinc.com/site2
    3. goelzerinc.com/site3

I’d like them all to use the same blog (one main news and events page).

How do i accomplish this on a shared hosting platform?

Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks much.

You’re in the forum section for the multisite *feature*. Are you looking to use that?

Yes, you can pick subfolders. you main site is your domain.com, the rest are /site2/ etc.

I’m not sure if that is the best route to go or not, but figured i should start here. Is there an easier or better way?

You’d be enabling the network on the main domain, thus getting the subsites you want.

“easier” would be separate installs of WP in each folder. then you’d have 4 installations to look after.

No need to reinvent the wheel, just create a network. Plus its less stress on your server.
