    I have a footer menu that was visible, but now has disappeared. In "Appearance", the footer menu is still there, but is not visible on the published site.

    All right, first I noticed this in your header:

    google-site-verification: google47d8bb2949a8e603.html

    Please go back to Theme Options > Webmaster Tools and enter the verification code -vs the HTML file Google provided. More details.

    For the footer and according to, you've modified either header.php or footer.php and have some stray tags.

    Please consider Child Theme for any and all modifications.

    Thanks,
    Emil

    It seems like good part of the footer.php was excluded, that would most likely be why

    Hi. Good day to you. Thank you for your help so far.

    Would deleting the footer menu and then redoing it work?

    Footer menu is controlled from the custom menu, so if the menu was created, simply delete it from Appearance > Menus and that's about it :)

    aha .. the problem was that the facebook widget in the side widget area was too big.
    After removing it, the footer menu returned. But now I have a big black extra footer menu. How do I get rid of that please?

    This is plugin or custom integration?

    Anyways you can do this:

    .content_footer_menu {
        display: none;
    }

    BTW Theme does not include that.
