Since the 3.0 upgrade, WordPress has asked me to update my themes, Magazine Basic and Sandbox (I didn’t design the site, so I don’t know how both were running at the same time). I finally caved today and it was a disaster. I just want go back to how it looked a few hours ago. I tried looking at the coding for older versions of themes and editing it accordingly, but that just made it worse.

Here’s what my site looked like before: http://www.regrettablesincerity.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/oldtheme.jpg

Here’s what it looks like now: http://www.regrettablesincerity.com

I have a memory of also incorporating the Magazine Three Column theme, but I don’t seem to be able to fix any individual thing. I do have backups from June 21st, at least as an exported xml file, but I can look for more backups if others have suggestions.

Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Adam

  • Make sure you go into the Magazine Basic admin and set all the option according to how you had them before. Some things are a little different so if things are not set it will not look right on the front end. Also, you need to setup your menus using the new menu system which is in the Appearance panel.

I’m not sure how they were set up before. What php file should I look at and copy and paste from? I have access to the FTP if needed.

I think I got it sorted out, I just re-transferred the old templates and deleted the new ones. Seems to be working.

Unless that will cause future problems?

Reverting back to the older version will not cause any problems but you will not be able to take advantage of new features in WordPress 3.0.
