Support » Fixing WordPress » How do I reverse a live-theme edit?

  • Last month my site, http://www.myoralvillage.org was hacked. I’m not an expert in this, and now that I’m aware of the risks, am subscribing to Sucuri. Norton blacklisted the site, and asked me to edit the theme-code to verify that the site was clean. The edit damaged my home page and I can’t correct it now. I would like to return the theme code to Jan 26th, 2016. Is that possible? How? My server is Siteground.

Depending on which plan/services you purchased from Siteground, you might be able to restore the site, see https://www.siteground.co.uk/tutorials/cpanel/backup_restore.htm

If not, did you not have your own backup routine? Suggest once you’re back up and running that’s your first priority.

Failing that, what kind of theme are we talking about? One you’d coded yourself, or a free/premium theme that you’d customised?
