Support » Plugin: Exifography » How do I retrieve lens model for a Canon 6D?

  • Hey there, I really like your plugin and have been plugging away (pun intended) using it on my site. However, I’d like to display the lens model used for the photo. I have a Canon 6D and a Canon 40D and I can’t seem to get the EXIF date from them. I’m using Lightroom 5.7.1 and have used Lightroom 3.6 on earlier shots.

I’ve only tried getting the info for one shot from the Canon 6D that was exported from Lightroom 5.7.1. so far.

I noticed that you’d commented out the lens info from your code and I’ve tried uncommenting it but it won’t display the data. I suspect that there’s some reason why the plugin can’t retrieve this data but was hoping you could suggest a workaround maybe?

    Hope you can help!
    Thanks!

    Hey,

Lens model is something I haven’t finished writing yet, which is why it’s commented out. Lens models are stored as codes in the raw EXIF and need to be compared to a database of models to display the readable version that you see in Lightroom and other apps.

I haven’t found the time to gather all the resources I’d need for this and convert it into a workable thing.
