I understand how to edit the page.php file to remove the sidebar from all pages on http://www.andrewstucken.com

    So far, so straightforward.

However, I would like to retain it on some pages, and furthermore reclaim the sidebar;s space so that the page fits the full width.

How do I do this, please?

  • You’re using the Expound theme. Going through its templates I found one that can be applied to create a fullwidth page without affecting the entire site. Go to page-templates/template-full-width.php. Therefore, when you want a page without sidebar, use this template rather than the ordinary page.php

    Thankyou Antoinette.

So to remove the sidebars form existing pages I guess I have to delete the existing code from those pages and paste it over form new pages created using the Template you mention.

Please, don’t delete any code from the pages. Try to apply the template from the admin panel. Access the page you’d like to apply this template to. There should be a dropdown list with available templates. Choose the full width template from there.

I see what you mean now. It is much simpler than I thought. Thanks!

ok how do I remove the side bars in the zeetasty theme? I can’t seem to get the text to go across the entire length of the page.
    thanks
