Support » Fixing WordPress » How do I receive pings?

  • Hello

I would like to host several blogs on one of my domains. I would like to track all of the blogs that I am hosting, and show on another page the most recently updated blogs.

Is there a way for me to give them a URL to ping that I am hosting? If I do this, how would I code a page to receive pings?

Or is there a simpler way?

    thanks

I would use an RSS feed from each, and display that – you’d get the benefit of seeing the latest post / title too.
A search here for ‘chait’ and ‘feedread’ will turn up something you can use.

If we have about 30 blogs to update, then we will need to make 30 DB queries from 30 RSS feeds, it may be too slow, and it will get slower as we add more blogs.

I am hoping there is a system to tie together the different blogs so we can see the most recently updated. Any ideas?

Even if you had a system to “tie” the blogs together, there would be one DB query per blog.
