I would like to host two blogs with the same core files (same plugins, same updates, same everythings) but in two places.
I write about technology currently, and I want to add a second blog completely dedicated to technical music (I am a musician..) but I do not want an entirely separate WordPress setup.

What are your suggestions? I just don't need the capability of expanding to thousands of individual blogs -- at least, not at this point in time.
I tried whatever the name of the plugin was that had "hive" in it, it simply did not work on my website and locked me out of wp-admin until I deleted the plugin via. FTP. I have no idea what happened, and will not troubleshoot it unless all of you seem to think it would be the best solution.

    Thank you for your assistance,

While it will scale to thousands, it still gives you want you ultimately want. If you can handle the setup, you're golden from there on out.

Okay, I have a problem now, when I enabled multiple sites, after configuring .htaccess and wp-config.php, I keep getting "Error establishing database connection".
I have followed the steps three times, the first time was successful then I realized that I needed to put WordPress into the root directory to have it work properly, I disabled/removed multiple sites from the configuration file and proceeded to follow steps to move the WordPress directory.
The second and third times I tried enabling it, I got the error I described above.
