How do I prevent people from leaving comments?

    My site is: http://germantownvariety.com/
    I have clicked off the ability to leave comments on every page but somehow people are still able to leave them. It’s spam and they only show up in the back-in for my approval, but I’d like to find out how they are able to leave comments, and how I can stop it (if possible).

    The spam bots are probably accessing the core comment scripts directly. Try activating Akismet to keep the spam down.
