    How do I get the site title to the same level as the menu? Example

    Site title at the same level as menu, but site title is left-aligned and the menu is right-aligned. As shown in the example above.

    I know I should create a child theme when I modify a theme.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi there,

    Since you didn’t provide the URL of your site, I went off the Illustrator demo. Here’s the basic CSS to move the menu to the right of the site title. It may need adjusting depending on the length of your site title and menu items, number of menu items, etc. If you need further help once your site is online, feel free to provide the URL so we can take a look.

    /* Put site title and menu side-by-side on wider screens */
    @media screen and ( min-width: 960px ) {
      .site-branding {
        width: auto;
        float: left;
      }
      .main-navigation {
        float: right;
        clear: none;
        width: auto;
      }
    }

    I know I should create a child theme when I modify a theme.

    A child theme is only needed if you plan to modify more than CSS (i.e. PHP, HTML, or JavaScript). If you’re only adding CSS overrides, you can use the built-in CSS editor in Customizer’s Additional CSS panel, with no need for a child theme.

    Let us know how it goes!

    @zoonini Thank you very much! Thought it would be harder. So grateful for the help. Of course I need to adjust it further but I know how I do it. Thank you, thank you!

    @zoonini Now I got stuck a little in my adjusting.

    I wish to reduce the distance between site title and menu.

    Right now, the entire row width is 1229px (default) and I wish to reduce it to 1100px. How do I do that?

    When I try to change the width myself, only the menu moves (.site-header).

    Thanks!

    Hi @rebecka – I’ll need to see your site in order to help you further. Please send along a link and I’ll take a look. Cheers!

    @zoonini I can’t do that when I develop locally (no web host), but I solved it by using a different style of the menu. =)
