How do I move new site from subfolder to root?

    I have created a new website using WordPress (domain.co.uk/newsite/). It is now complete and I wish it to go live. The old website is currently live and is not a wordpress site but wish the new wordpress site to appear for that domain. I wish to remove the old site and replace it with the new site (currently in a subfolder) using Filezilla.

    I am new to this and could do with step by step instructions in plain English of how to achieve this without losing all the work that I’ve done.

    Can anyone help or point me in the right direction?
