How do I make it work?

    The badge in the favicon is shown only when there are new unread posts.
    Just add a new post and refresh the home page or wait 3 minutes to refresh the badge. When you open the new post the badge will be gone.

    I did that. I see nothing. When I open the site on a different browser should I see something? A detailed intalletion explanation on the plugin’s page + screenshots would be nice.

    The problem is that the favicon is on a different domain, upload the favicon to the current site’s domain and it will work.

    I uploaded the favicon to the same domain now. I still see nothing
