Support » Fixing WordPress » How do I make comments visible

  • How can I make a comment that someone wrote on a post become visible rather than have it display that there are 3 comments etc. In other words, when you look at the article and then scroll below it, it shows the comment rather than a hyper linked number that takes you to the comment.

    Thank you

  • I would also really like to find this out. I have searched throughout the support forums but only read a few messages from 2007 saying that this wasn’t possible or even desirable. I can totally see how you would not want comments visible if 200 people are commenting but if you’re trying to build the profile of your blog, it actually helps to have some of the blog comments visible as it shows that people are reading your posts and are interested in what you have to say. Any ideas for how to resolve this? Thanks

I too am trying to figure this out.
    A little help, anyone?

    +1, please advice!!

has anyone figured out how to make this possible? thank you

Found this page which worked for me.
One thing the Comments_template they mention is in single.php and not in index.php
    Hope this helps someone

I am about to throw my computer through the window (not really it is my baby). I can not get comments to appear at the bottom of my posts. I have changed the position of the comments_template call, I have added a call to wp_reset_query() and even added withcomments = 1 all in the single.php file. I get a comment box, I also see the date the comment was posted and the user that posted the comment, but no comment. They are in the db, just not on the web site. I have tried the twentyeleven theme, no comments. I have complete dropped my database and deleted all files on the url, reinstalled WP and themes, no comments. I would love some help here. My site is if you want to see the problem.
    I am all ears!
