How do I make a post my home page (10 posts)

My home page is now a page that contains every blog post I make no matter what category it is. I want to make it go to a single blog post of my choice as my home page. How can I do that???? Been trying for hours.

    Regards,
    MJ

    Hello
You have to go on Reading Settings on backend,
choose for "Front page displays" a static page , then choose a specific page or post from dropdown menu
    Hope this can help

No, don't want a "page" want a "post" as the home page. Is it possible to specify a post or specific url as home page?

    maybe: show last post--> give it a post-date: 1.1.2050

    could work! :-)

making a post sticky from the edit screen will make it remain at the top

Is that what you are looking to do, or you want ONLY your selected post on the front page?

Well, that's tricky... always the same post, or changing?

It's probably going to require a custom page template witha custom query to call the single post

The template can really be a copy of index.php, or one of your other templates with the header on it

Then a query calling to the one post

or possibly just adding a query to index.php wrapped in a conditional

Always the same post, not changing.
Thanks for that, I will work with those suggestions and see if its going to work out.
Its for a client but personally I think it would save a lot of headache to just make it a page instead of a post. We shall see.

    Thanks a lot :)

Also can anyone tell me how to make a custom menu and put it on the right side of only one page? I know how to make the menu, but how do I get it on just one page?
