How do I make a global change to page text and code? (2 posts)

I took my static site and put the content in WordPress. But now I want to make a global change to replace some text (i.e. say "directory" instead of "index" and adjust some image pathing in the source code I brought in).

With Dreamweaver and other products, you could always make a global change and upload the files.

I'm not sure how to do that here.

Under tools, there is an export option that seems appealing. I could make the change in XML and import. But it seems risky an designed for other purposes.

    Thanks for your advice.

Are you talking about making changes to a theme's template files? If so there might be a text editor that does that. Using http://wingrep.com and an editor is also useful.

If you are talking about changes to information in the database, then look at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search-and-replace/
