• So I was creating my website and on the front page I have the word Edit.

I quit editing and turned the PC off. Today on returning to my website I have no ‘Edit’ option.

So I come to the WordPress website to login to my account (as-per the details in my email which was sent by WordPress to me with my site name, user name and information “please use the password you used when you logged in” (or similar message)) and it says incorrect.

I then requested my Password be sent to me at the same address I used to register with WordPress and it says I don’t exist!

    Help!

    MP

    Sorted it?

Entering “http://www.mydomainname.com/wp-admin/” and entering the username and password worked?

So the WordPress login for my site is not for the WordPress.org/com websites which gave me the same login request….odd 🙁

Nothing odd about it. WordPress.com and your own self-hosted site are completely different animals and have no relation whatsoever, other than using (pretty much) the same software.

You can choose to have the same logins/passwords, but they’re not related by default.
