currently have a blog site on which posts are posted. I have another site that displays the latest posts from the blog site. However, when I click the read more button, the title, or the image, it takes me to a post that is sitting on the target site instead of back to the source. This happens on my live site but not the staging site. I checked all the settings, the plugins, and everything else I could think of, but I can’t get it to work. On the staging site, clicking on Our Blog takes me to the source page, which is what I want it to do. On the live site, I get a page that has a scrambled version of the posts page.

Here are the sites in question:

The blog is posted on https://babyquiltlady.com

My staging site, which is doing what I want it to do, is https://staging23.uniquebabyquiltboutique.com.

    My live site is https://uniquebabyquiltboutique.com

This is the blog page on BabyQuiltLady.com

If I click on any of the links within the post grid on the live site, I get something that looks like this
. Notice that there are no images.

Finally, this is from the staging site.

If I click on the individual links from the posts, this is what I get:

This is what I want it to do.

If I click on the our blog link in the header menu, I get the original blog page.

This is what I want it to do.

I don’t understand why the links work properly on the staging site and not on the live site, or why the images don’t come along with the text.

Does anyone have any ideas? I tried every plugin or RSS feedaggregator with the same result. HELP!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

How are you currently importing posts? I see that the URL information for the images is incorrect, so they are not displayed (and also slow down the loading process). This must be happening when the posts are imported, so the way they get into WordPress is of interest to analyze your problem.

Hi, I don’t know if this has anything to do with my problem, but on the staging site (the one that is working properly) posts page, there is an item in the side bar when in the editing view that says “template: feed reader template” . If i click on that, I get this message:

    Template

Templates define the way content is displayed when viewing your site.

    Warning notice

The posts page template cannot be changed.

The template entry does not appear on the live site, and I don’t know how it showed up on the staging site.

Both sites have the page designated as “posts page”.

For some unknown reason, neither site is updating posts as they are posted. So, I have been exporting the posts from the source and then importing them to the target sites. That works, but having to manually do it is not ideal.

I did manage to get the links to work by manually editing the posts that were uploaded to the target site. I changed the link on the edit page to “point this page to a custom URL” and “open in a new tab”.

Even though it is now working, I would like to find a way to do this automatically. Thanks for reading my post

You seem to be using some kind of plugin for this. However, I can’t find anything under “feed reader template” in the public WordPress repository. So you’re probably using some commercial plugin I don’t know about.

Could you please copy the site info under Tools > Site Health > Info (there is a button there, just click on it) and post it here with the code block as described here: https://wordpress.org/support/forum-user-guide/block-editor/#code-block – then one could recognize what you are using in your project and help you more or give you a direction how you could solve the problem.

No, you posted the text of your baking here, not the website report.

Again: go to Tools > Site Health > Info – wait until the page is fully loaded. Then click on the “Copy site info to clipboard” button. Then go to the forum here and paste your clipboard into a code block.
