How do I know if I configured email settings correctly?

Hi,

I’m testing out the affiliates page on my blog (emini-turtle.com) and I fill out a form as an ‘applicant ‘s see if I get email notifications to my gmail account. I see the new affiliate in the affiliate page but I don’t get any emails, as the admin or as the applicant.

How do I make sure if this is because I haven’t configured the email settings correctly, or if it’s some problem with the plugin itself, or if it’s a problem with my blue host account?

Any help on this is much appreciated!
