• I am using this plugin with the Classic Editor and it works great. However, I am seeing icons in the tool bar for a couple of my other plugins (NextGEN and Modern Events Calendar). I would like to remove/hide them from the Advanced Editor Toolbar. How can I do that? Also, is it possible to remove/hide the “Create [simple-links] shortcode” icon?

I unchecked the following option but it did not remove the icons for my other plugins. I am using WordPress version 5.5.1 and I am wondering if this option does not work in this version of WordPress.

Append all buttons to the top toolbar in the Classic Paragraph and Classic blocks.
This affects buttons that are added by other plugins. These buttons will be appended to the top toolbar row instead of forming second, third, and forth rows.

Following is a link to a screenshot showing what my toolbar currently looks like. The items highlighted in yellow are the things I would like to remove or hide from the toolbar.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

it did not remove the icons for my other plugins

Right. This plugin does not manage buttons added by other plugins. The third-party plugins should manage their own buttons.

If you’re building a site for a customer and really want to use a plugin but hide the button(s) it adds, best would be to contact the plugin’s author and ask them to add such setting. As a “final fallback” you can also make a tiny WP plugin that filters the editor buttons, or just hide them with some css.
