how do I get “Pretty Permalinks” on a Windows IIS server?

  • I found this article which is a great help:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks#Permalinks_without_mod_rewrite
but still need a little help. I’m not the web guru nor am I the administrator for the server we’re on. The administrator of the server fears that altering the php.ini file will require a server reboot which he can’t do.

Can anyone tell me whether or not the server will need to rebooted after the cgi redirect changes are made or is that unnecessary? Also, he’s got other forums on that server, would this change affect anything with those?

Thanks in advance for any help I can get on this topic!
