• Somehow I lost Disqus at the end of our webpages, like this one.

They were there just a few days ago. I checked my Disqus account, and everything is still ok with my account. so I’m left to assume that there’s some issue with the coding on my page.php.

Might someone be so kind to help me identify what I’ve done wrong in this code, if anything?

  • There’s no Disqus code in that file. It may be (was) in your footer.php file if one exists.

I’m going to hazard a guess that you updated the theme with a new release and this update overwrote your edited template.

You’ll need to re-add the Disqus code but this time it might be more advisable to do so in a child theme. If you make regular backups you should be able to copy the code from the old template to the new template in your child theme.

If you don’t make regular backups, start today.

Thanks for that feedback. The Disqus comment system is showing up on this blog post, but not on this page, so I’m assuming the code was removed from the page.php.

What do I need to enter in the page.php to get this to show up again? The comment is showing up showing where the comments are supposed to be, but the code is gone or misplaced.

    What’s wrong with the page.php?

Sorry, I meant to say the “commented-out comment label is there, but the comment code is gone”.

What does the Disqus code look like? It was placed in the page. php via the plugin before, so I don’t know what it looks like.
