How do I get archives.php working? (5 posts)

I'm running my own theme and just dropped the kubrik archives.php file in. How do I access it?

http://www.apt47.com/archives.php obviously doesn't work. Also, I've seen people access their archives with structures like http://www.apt47.com/archives/2005 and so on. Why doesn't that work on my site?

You have to create a new "page". In the advanced edit mode, you'll have the option to choose the archives page template.

Another thing though. It'd be cool to have the resulting list (this one http://www.apt47.com/archives/ ) display each month and a list of all post headers as subs. Like this:

    March 2005
    Post title 1
    Post title 2
    Post title 3
    Post title 4

    February 2005
    Post title 1
    Post title 2
    Post title 3
    Post title 4

How would I go about doing something like that?
