How do I get a widget in the footer to be wider?

  • Hello all,

Firstly: yes I have searched about, and although there were several similar posts and some recommended fixes, everything I have tried has failed.

Secondly, I am creating my own theme, which is a child of TwentyThirteen.

I have a disclaimer in the footer of my store website http://www.healthynutrition.co.nz.

I want that disclaimer to spread across the black area. It is a text widget in main Widget Area. It needs to flow to the full width of the screen between the search and the right hand edge.

I also have the problem of the secondary widget area overflowing onto the footer, so I’ll start a different post for that…

Can anyone help with what I’m doing wrong?

    thanks in advance.
