  • Resolved star_lite

Hi! I’m trying to embed the guestbook on my index.php just before the footer is called, but, since there is nothing on the actual Page(I named it ‘GuestBook’) tht was created, hence, nothing is displayed. So is there a way to embed it on index.php?

Also, instead of displaying the messages as a table can we have something like an iframe or textarea which scrolls and shows the latest msg on top when index.php is loaded and refreshes msgs every 5secs or so? Something like a shoutbox but the msgs are saved.

I’m running my custom template on my PC/localhost. WordPress version 3.1.2.

  • Or is there a way to do the same but with a different plugin/code?

    Hi star_lite

DMSGuestbook has a widget (dmsguestbook/widget.php) which show messages on the side of your page. That could you help to find the entry point to customize the guestbook.

Otherwise you can use the php database code from widget.php to build your own “shoutbox” plugin.

    Thank u for you help.

I found a plugin ‘My Shouts’ which also does the same thing but i get to embed it on my index.php 🙂
