How do I downgrade back down to WordPress 1.5 (3 posts)

SO I have contacted Netfirms and they have in fact confirmed to me on the phone that there is no way to get pretty permalinks to work with 2.0. They said that they are planning on fixing it in the future but would not comment on when.

I have tried to change the permalinks structure on my blog http://www.WilyTrader.com to the index.php/ and that worked for most of the links but none of the links within the posts themselves got changed.

Subsequently My click through rate has been cut by over 70%!!!

So it would seem that I have no choice but to downgrade to WP 1.5 but don't know how. I have the backup of everything I did before the upgrade (about 2 weeks ago) but am affrai I'll loose everything I did prior to then if I just drag and drop the old backup files onto my server.

What's the proper way to do this downgrade so that I get back the old structure but retain the new content?

1.Copy and paste any posts made since your 1.5.2 upgrade to 2.x into a text file and save that file.
2.Backup your database (just in case)
3.Backup your WordPress files and folders (just in case)
4.Delete (DROP) your current database WordPress tables
    5.Restore your 1.5.2 database backup
6.Delete your WordPress files and folder
7.Upload the 1.5.2 WordPress files and folders. If you didn't do a backup of those before your 2.0.x upgrade you can get them from http://static.wordpress.org/archive/
8.Copy and paste from the text file created in step 1 to new posts in your 1.5.2 blog.

    I've completed 1 & 2 & 3

    4. But I don't know what you mean by (DROP) my current database WordPress tables...how do I do this?

    5. How do I restore my old databse? And would not restoring the 1.5.2 database cause me to lose any posts I have created since then? Is there a way to load my 2.0 database so I retain these?

    6. Which files & folders do I delete here?

    8. I guess 8 answers my question to # 5, So I guess there isn't a way to retain the original date structures?
