• I am running WordPress 2.2 and I am trying to customize my sidebar on the default template.

I have added a “category” and “recent comment” widget through the admin interface and now I am freehand editing through the templates/default/ directory trying to edit the look and feel to the widgets on my sidebar but don’t know what file to look into to do so.

I want to include the widgets in the sidebar into it’s own table, replace the header that writes “Categories” with an image and just completely freehand design it.

I can’t seem to find it in “sidebar.php” so where can I do this at?

  • You can’t have both.
You either use the widgets and in that case editing the sidebar.php is useless… or you don’t use the widgets and you edit and customize your sidebar as you wish.

So where could I find the instructions or help guide for doing that? I can’t find anything about editing the page elements or sidebars like for adding a list of links or editing an existing one. I’m using Ambient Glo
    Thanks

see the link at the top of all the pages here, the one that syas “Docs”. Docs is short for documentation.
