Support » Plugin: Cleverness To-Do List » How do I change what happens with the checkbox

  • To start off I just want to say that this plugin is awesome. It’s been a real help with my Buddypress site.

    Although I do have a question. I’m using the shortcode [todochecklist] on a WordPress page and it shows each item for an individual user with a checkbox for each item. When I check the box the item fades out and becomes “completed” but instead of it being removed I would like for it to have a line through the item like it’s being crossed off.

    Is that at all possible with this plugin? I’m not sure where I would start, but I would be very happy if this plugin can do this.

    Well, it’s not possible with the code currently in the plugin. You could modify the plugin, but you’ll need to reapply your changes after plugin upgrades.

    The file is /js/cleverness-to-do-list-frontend.js and the part you’ll need to change is around lines 44 and 45. You’ll need to remove the fadeOut() and removeAttr lines and add something to show a strike-through instead. Like $(todoid).css('text-decoration', 'line-through');

    Just a note that this effect won’t persist. If you reload the page, the item will be gone since the code only pulls uncompleted items.
