How do i change location on address bar?
-
hi guys,
i want to give my sites (on the multiple sites) to use there location, means:
instead the visitor see this on address bar:
http://www.mydomain.com/html2css/
he will see this:
now my friend success to manage that but he wont tell me.
now, i allready enable mapping for the sites, but it is now give me what i expected. this plugin only directs from say: http://mydomain.com/html2css/ to html2css.mydomain.com, and i dont want that.
it is change of .htaccess file or what file?
also, how can i do that by replica (not to copy all the files, but to copy only the necessary files to the desire domain)?
thanks,
rami

You mapped the wrong thing. You’ve mapped a subdomain, not the master domain. You need to do that.

i did that, but all he gave me its http://mydomain.com/html2css/ address and not http://html2css.com
the error you see on html2css.com is becouse i open a new account and thru there 2 files index.php and .htaccess trying to figure how to change the location of the address bar to show: http://html2css.com/ instead of http://mydomain.com/html2css/
for example, if i have a new post named info.html, then what currently display is http://mydomain.com/html2css/info.html
i want it to display the location like that: http://html2css.com/info.htmldo you have a good guide to how actually make it work?

All he who?
Did you give html2css.com it’s own account on a server? It’s not supposed to have that. You just point the DNS to where mydomain.com is.
Read the plugin directions: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/

Your mapped domain will exist virtually. It will have none of it’s own files and folders on your servers. It will just be mapped to the install running it. It works.
ill give it a try today.
