  • this won’t work without restructuring the html of the theme:

sorry.. i dont think i understand.

i went to the link and did the first part, but all it does is add a gap between the header and body.

    would anyone else know?

    thank you!

did you try to follow through all parts?

if you are using an unmodified version of the kubrick theme, the instructions should work.

if you are stuck at some point and would like some suggestions, you could post a link to your site.

Start by sorting out the markup errors. You have lots of unwanted </p> tags and at least 1 missing </div> tag.
Then move onto the CSS errors.

    hi esmi!

    thanks for the links.

i’ve looked at it, but ithink the markup errors are just from the blog entries, not the actual styling..

im so confused lol.. sorry about being such a newbie!

    I think not…

    esmi..

in that case I really don’t understand. im looking at some of the errors, and its like

Line 73, Column 5: end tag for "br" omitted, but OMITTAG NO was specified
    <br>written by Karen</p> </small>

that part is from the entries…

Im not sure how this affects the png header and wanting the background to show through

i know im a newbie, so if you can be a little more specific, it would be greatly appreciated..

That particular error is minor – although, as it adds to the general error noise, it should be corrected to:
    <br />written by Karen</p> </small>

The missing closing </div> tag could impact on your header depending upon why it’s missing. Did you forget to close the last div block? Or is there unwanted opening <div> tag much further up the page. All of the extra </p> tags would also worry me.

You also have 4 serious errors in the stylesheet – any one of which could stop the CSS – from the error down – working at all in IE. And one of those errors is at the top of the stylesheet.
