Have you reset your WP Admin > Testimonials > Settings and then created a new testimonials widget without any settings to ensure you can see testimonials come through?

Yes – I did. I see how it works now. There is a new Testimonials option that shows up on the left after installation of the widget. I see now that that’s now that is where I should be putting my testimonials from this point forward instead of the testimonials “post” section that came with the template. Am I correct?

Sounds correct to them. Give it a try and then report back here.

Well – I added some testimonials and they do show up. That was using the shortcode. I’d like to learn how to do it by adding code to the php file, so I guess that’ll be next. If I can’t figure it out though – I guess I can just use the shortcode.

Look in the FAQ for theme functions.

hey – you did it! Well – not exactly, but giving me the clue to look in the theme functions file showed me that there is also a shortcodes file. First, I looked in the testimonials php file (the one that came with the template). It mentions code for a sidebar (which is where I’m trying to put them), but the template doesn’t come with the testimonials in any sidebar, so I couldn’t figure out how to get it there. When I looked in the shortcodes file, there was already code in there for recent testimonials – the one that came with the template. It tells you the function shortcode for recent testimonials. So I created a 2nd column and added that shortcode to the right column, and voila! The original testimonials showed up! Soo – I guess I don’t need to use your testimonial widget. 🙁 I’ll keep it in mind though – that’s for sure! In any case, your hints got me there and now I think you’re a genious! Thank you.

I’m glad you got your theme’s testimonials working.

I told my wife you think I’m a genius and she responds that you’re exaggerating. She just thinks I do a great job. I think I prefer your compliment better.
