How do I add post content in the sidebar? (8 posts)

    Hi all,

    Noob here.

I know I probably can't get support for this template because it is a modified version of kubrick, but I was hoping to possibly grab some advice from a veteran or two.

I have a new political news blog and I am using the 3 column kubrick template. I am quite happy so far but I am finding that underneath everything that I need in the sidebar, there is just tons of empty space.

Is there a way to create a single column of some sort that would allow for more news or content with a single column the size of the two smaller ones?

This column would sit underneath the two columns already in place.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

Crap. I just realized I probably posted this in the wrong place.

You might want to ask your K2 related question at:

This isn't a K2 related question. This is regarding the original Kubrick, modded for 3 column. I would say it may be some work to do what you want. If you are interested, I'm reworking a 3 column theme that does allow for what you are asking. It's still in progress for distribution, but I'm trying to get a working release out soon. Let me know if you are interested.

I'm definatly interested, but I am very pleased with the current look and feel so I am curious to see how much coding it would take to bring a new theme up to par for what I am looking for.

I guess for now I will just have to settle for two smaller columns.

Try wrapping your two side bar columns in a div. So that you'd have a structure like div->Sidebar, div->twocolumns, div->left-side, close left side, div->right-side, close-right side, close twocolumns, close sidebar.

That way, you should be able to add content between the close-twocolumns and close sidebar, and take advantage of the space. At least that's what I did with the three column theme I have now. I actually can insert content between the div->sidebar and div->two column as well, my search box is in that space, then two mini columns, then a single width sidebar.

    Hope that helps.

    That should do it.
