    I have tried the following

    <?php the_excerpt() ?>

    in my loop. AKA after the first of 5 paragraphs in a story for example. Nod dice.

    I have also tried copying and pasting a paragraph into the excerpt box in the write/write post section. No dice.

    No one else seems to have this issue so it must be easy!

    Thanks for all your help.

  • I’m having the same problem with excerpts (and other editing issues) in WP [2 and 1.5]. I’ve tried to edit posts (both in WYSIWYG and HTML) and the edits don’t stick. It’s a nightmare.

    I don’t know where the excerpt option went in 2.0, but you can decide where to cut of each article manually using the more function, or the page function.
