Support » Plugin: Advanced Sidebar Menu » How do add background color to grand children of a child?

    Greetings again,

    I have another little challenge.

    On the sidebar, we have Child and grand children as represented by the following:

    GIS   <-- Child
      GIS Contact Form <-- grand Child
      About-GIS     <-- grand Child
       What is GIS
       General FAQ
      Online Forms & Lists <-- grand Child
       Address Request Form
       Combination/Separation Form
      GIS Online  <-- grand Child
       GIS Support Ticket System
       Pictometry
       Parcel & Zoning Map

    As you can see from the above sample layout, GIS is the child, About GIS is grand child, so is Online Forms & Lists and GIS Online.

    The widgets styles gives you the option to add Child background color.
    However, there is no option to add background color to grand children to differentiate them from Child and grand children’s items.

    Is it possible to have background color for the grand children?

    I have used FF to inspect the items to see if I could figure out a way to add background color to grand children but anything I tried failed.
    The closest I got was using this:
    ul.children{background-color:#009B32 !important;}

    but it is adding background color to all the items on the sidebar except the child menu called GIS.

    Hi W,

    You may target the great grandchildren using the following CSS

    #advanced_sidebar_menu-2-wrap .child-sidebar-menu .children .children li a {
        background-color: #009B32 !important;
    }

    If you widget has a different id, you will have to change the #advanced_sidebar_menu-2-wrap to match it.

    Have a great day!

    Hi Mat again,

    It worked, sort of.
    It targeted the wrong items.

    We wanted the items that say <– grand child to have background color, not the items underneath them.

    GIS <– Child
    GIS Contact Form <– grand Child — wanted this to have background
    About-GIS <– grand Child — wanted this to have background
    What is GIS —made this item have background color
    General FAQ —made this item have background color
    Online Forms & Lists <– grand Child
    Address Request Form —made this item have background color
    Combination/Separation Form—made this item have background color
    GIS Online <– grand Child — wanted this to have background
    GIS Support Ticket System —made this item have background color
    Pictometry —made this item have background color
    Parcel & Zoning Map <strong —made this item have background color

    Hi W,

    You may set the grandchild menus to which every color you would like using the widget settings, then adjust the CSS to target the ones under them with whatever you would like those to be.

    Cheers

    Sorry for the clutter. I wanted to make proper indentation:

    GIS <– Child
       GIS Contact Form <– grand Child — wanted this to have background
       About-GIS<strong> <– grand Child — wanted this to have background</strong>
         What is GIS —made this item have background color
         General FAQ —made this item have background color
       Online Forms & Lists<strong> <– grand Child — wanted this to have background</strong>
         Address Request Form —made this item have background color
         Combination/Separation Form—made this item have background color
       GIS Online <strong><– grand Child — wanted this to have background</strong>
         GIS Support Ticket System —made this item have background color
         Pictometry —made this item have background color
         Parcel & Zoning Map <strong —made this item have background color

    ok, sorry I posted before I saw your last post.
