How could I get or make a more compact Countdown?

    How could I get or make a more compact Countdown?
    Instead of:

    Days----------Hours----------Minutes----------Seconds

    Wish I could get this:

    Days--Hours--Minutes--Seconds

    Right now on iPhone (portrait) I am loosing some screen real estate.
    It shows like this:

    Days----------Hours          

Minutes----------Seconds

    Followed by Message here (but off screen)
