# How complete is the WP export function?

 * Hi guys….. I have a client who is using a VERY difficult host to work with & 
   I believe they are trying to make it hard for them to move hosts…. currently 
   they don’t have access to their FTP or databases & have been quoted $195 AUD 
   to make a backup of the files & database & won’t give them access to do it themselves.
 * So was wondering what exactly does the WP export give you? Does it contain all
   the required database details needed to rebuild the site/blog on a new WP installation?

 * the export gives you posts, pages, cats, etc. – plus comments and authors if 
   you choose
 * it does not store details like the database backup would – like permalink structure…
   theme being used , plugins installed, etc.
