How can I upload my WP website to a new sever using FTP?

    Hi, I just got locked out of my domain and the registar is giving me a hard time so I’m moving my stuff to a new domain with a new company. So now I do not have access to my old wordpress control panel or anything like that. Therefore using a convenient backup/install plugin is not an option for me.

    What I do I do have is all the files from my Public_HTML folder. How can I take that and use it to re-up my WordPress website on the new domain? Is it even possible? Also should I do a fresh install of WordPress on the new domain or will that automatically be installed if I upload the entire Public_HTML folder I got from my old site? Please help. Thank you.

    Do you have a copy of your database from your old site? Lots of content is stored there – not in your site files.

    Yes I have access to my datebase files. I still have access to my cPanel (because it still exist by ip even though there is no more domain), I just don’t have access to my wp-admin panel because I don’t have the old domain anymore.

    I’ll give your link a read as well thanks. Do you think I will be able to just dump those files into the new Public_HTML if I also install the databases or no?

    I would install a new version of wordpress on the server, then overwrite all of the files with your old ones to change the settings back. Then you need to create a dump of your MYSQL or MSSQL and then upload the dump to the new host. When this is all done you need to go into the database and change the WP_OPTIONS tabel to the new settings.

    After this you need to open wp_config (A file in the source or wp-admin folder). You must edit the file to the new settings for the MYSQL or MS SQL server.
