How can I select the series when publishing podcasts with “other” post types?

    In the simple podcast plugin, I’ve selected other post types to be automatically added to the podcast, however, when I’m using hat post type, there is no widget to add the “Series” to it.

    When adding a “podcast” post type, I see the widget for selecting the Series, but not when creating other post types.

    This is absolutely essential so we don’t have to post our audio in multiple places, but really need to be able to tag the series for each episode. thanks!

    Also, the “Featured Image” isn’t showing up as my “Artwork” on my podcast. Instead the Podcast main image is showing on all of my podcast episodes.

    But my first question is much more important.

    Hello,

    You can get the archive of all of your Podcasts, not the individual Series, by navigating to the Customizer > Menu > Add Item > Podcast > All Episodes Post Type Archive. That list of all of your podcasts in one list is seen at yourdomain.com/podcast.

    If you want to use a different image for an episode apart from the Podcast Cover Art you added in Settings, make sure to upload a 1400 X 1400 square to the episode page featured image and it should display that image in your HTML player.

    You answered my second question but not the first. I’d send a screenshot but this forum doesn’t allow.

    When adding a “podcast” on the right hand side of my screen I have check boxes for telling it what series that podcast is apart of. However we have a post series type that existed before adding your podcast plugin which I want to continue using.

    Your plugin allows me to tell it that I want this post type to also be in my podcast listing, and that works perfectly. However on that add post edit page, the widget that allows you to check the series to associate it with isn’t present. I can send a screenshot of it if you give an email address to send it to.

    I have the same problem, but only for certain post types. I can select a series for The Events Manager posts, standard WordPress posts, and of course SSP posts. But I have another plugin which has a custom post type which doesn’t show the series.
    I would love to know if this is an issue with the ssp plugin or if my other plugin is doing something in a non-standard way.

    My apologies if this the thread was inadvertently closed and thank you for reaching out again to provide further explanation. We took a look at this issue in more detail and believe this may be a bug, but will need to do further testing. @dimsumgirl which other plugin are you using that you are not able to select the CPT? What other post types are you creating where you are not able to see series? What plugins are involved? Thanks for your help with this.

    Thanks! Love the plugin so far, hopefully can get this figured out.

    For my instance, I’m using this theme

    Which has a post type called “sermons” which allows me to attach audio files and archive them on the site…and I plan to use this type to post future podcasts.

    When I create this post type I see the podcast options (audio file url, duration, recorded date, etc) but not the widget to assign it to a series.

    Hopefully some of that helps.

    Any updates?
    I tried looking at the code on GitHub to see if I can help….but PHP is one of those languages I never decided to learn lol. On top of that I don’t understand the WordPress infrastructure that well.

    Really would like to get an update here. We won’t be able to go live with our podcast until we can break these up into series. Please let me know the timeline for resolving this so I can decide whether we need to move to a different plugin. I like yours .. it is simple (seriously) but it needs to work for my purpose obviously.
