Support » Networking WordPress » How can I restrict certain subdomains from being registered by users?

  • I have entered a list of terms I would like to restrict my users from using under “Banned Names” in Network Settings, but it looks as though this list is not used to restrict the names of sites within the network.

Besides creating them all before making my network live, what can I do to prohibit member sites from using certain subdomains within my network?

    Thanks in advance.

  • It worked when I tried it. I added foobar to the list, then I tried to register a site with the subdomain foobar, and it said: That name is not allowed

Interesting… I wonder why it didn’t work then. Thanks for the feedback. I’ll keep playing with it.

Disable plugins to see if one is interfering if it still does not work.
