Hi @alagboso,
To remove time stamp from the post on the homepage, search following code on line numbers 33 and 34 in content.php file of your Twenty Fourteen theme
if ( 'post' == get_post_type() )
twentyfourteen_posted_on();
And replace it with the following code.
if ( 'post' == get_post_type() && ! is_home() )
twentyfourteen_posted_on();
Alternatively you can just hide it by adding following CSS code in your site using any of the following plugin or adding it in stylesheet file of your child theme.
.home .post .entry-date {
display: none;
}

If you do make the PHP theme edits provided above, just an important heads-up thht editing theme files directly will cause you to lose all your changes when you update the theme.
Instead, create a child theme, so your tweaks won’t be overwritten when updating the theme. It’s easy and quick. Here are some guides in case you haven’t made one before:

Hi @alagboso,
Yes you should create child theme instead of directly editing Twenty Fourteen theme to avoid losing changes made in the code after updating the theme.
Develop child theme referring instructions provided on the pages listed by @kathryn Presner in the previous reply and copy content.php file from the Twenty Fourteen theme in to child theme and make the necessary changes in it so that your content.php file in the parent theme will remain unchanged.
Kind Regards,
