We are driving traffic to a website using a Facebook Promoted post. We are ready to launch but there is additional text next ti the display URL. It is displayed next to a “|” sybmol.

We found that it is being pulled from the Meta tag (author) of the landing page.

Doe anyone know how we can remove this without having to change the tags on the page?

  • Hey there Reclel,

    How are you doing today?

Would you mind posting link to your site where I can see this so I can try to remove that with some custom CSS?

    Best regards,

Are you linking to an author page? Is the author name inside the <title> tag of your page (the name is your browser tab), or on the page itself?

Thanks a lot for your responses.
I am linking to the general website.
I was able to remove the unwanted text with a plugin (facebook author meta)
I suppose making direct code changes in the editor is better, but I couldn’t identify where the text was coming from in order to change it.

Weird – glad you found a solution though 🙂
