how can i remove spaces in paragrphs (content copied from ms word)

I have used the visual editor to edit content from Microsoft word but the paragraphs have spaces when i try to preview i used paste as plaint text feature but when i try to preview the format and spaces are still there even if i tried to edit ( spacing still exits with in the paragraphs)
