How can i hide the file location link of media files in FB shares

    Hi,

    Is there a way to disable file paths (link to file) of media files in shared posts?

    Hi,

    can you specify what you mean?

    Dod you want to specify the description and text that is going to be shared?

    Then you can use the share options meta box on the post editor page.

    Hi Rene,

    So if i click the share button for facebook in a post with which contains a video (which is stored on my server in my uploads folder) then i get the following posted on FB:

    1. The video ✓
    2. The URL of the site ✓
    3. The title of the shared post ✓
    4. The link (URL) to the source file like https://url.com/wp-content/uploads/ ×

    So 4. Is my problem actually which i’d like to remove

    Ps: I’d like to add that i’m running a multisite where users post stuff and they have no access to the dashboard, so they submit posts via a frontend editor so i am looking for a global setting to disable file locations.
