How can I have templates for posts?

    How can I have templates for posts?

    For example, the same way you have when creating a page
    You could choose for example to go with ‘standard’ or ‘full with’ page (assuming you have additional templates setup)

    I want certain posts to be of a different format and layout

    Are there any plugins for this?

    WP 3.0 – does this have the ability?
    I’ve read up about the new Custom Post type – this seems brilliant – but no control over the formatting and choosing different templates
