Is it possible to get additional buttons from other plugins into the editor? These plugins provide a “frontend” option but it has no effect on the forum editor.
It is a really important feature for me, so is there any way to hook into the wpForo editor?

Please provide more information, is this a TinyMCE button? Have you tried the TinyMCE Advanced plugin?

Yes it is a TinyMCE button and yes I’ve tried TinyMCE Advanced, but it is only able to add the top bar to your forum editor (File, Edit, View etc.). Plugins are not able to add any buttons to the toolbar of your editor itself.

I’m sorry but that’s all you can add. There is no option to add buttons in the main buttons area, because it’s already customized for forums. We couldn’t leave the native WordPress post editor for forum topics. We may add filter hooks in future to allow you add/remove some TinyMCE buttons, but at the moment there is no way to customize that.

Ok I am sad to hear that 🙁
    Thanks anyways!
