By accident while working on another site on the same server I overwrote my index.php file. I guess this is not the same as the theme’s index.php file and I don’t know what code I need to make my site show up again. Is there a set index.php file for every wordpress site? How do I do this?

    Thanks

Which index.php file did you over-write?

It is in the “/” folder. Along with some “wp-” files

You need to download a fresh copy of your version of WordPress and extract the index.php file from the root folder.
