Hello. I am in quite a predicament and I was hoping you guys can advise.

For some reason my login page is no longer working: http://www.bravenfilms.com/wp-admin The page is suddenly all messed up yet I have made no changes to any files in over a year, and it doesn’t appear to be malware after a malware expert manually went through all WP files on the server. It’s baffling. The theme is from 2010 and WP version from 2011 so it must be related to this in some way.

Anyhow, I would like to export my site so I can set it up on a fresh theme on a fresh WordPress install. Trouble is, I can’t login, so I am wondering how I might go about doing that?

    Thank you for reading!

I would grab the files through an FTP like FileZilla. Get your FTP account credentials through your hosting provider.

Thanks Trumani but it’s actually the XML export I need, not the PHP files. The XML contains all the posts, pages, etc but to export this you usually need to login to WordPress. Just wondering kf there is any way to export this data somehow without logging in to WordPress.

You can do a dump of your database, which contains ALL posts pages comments plugins meta data user data etc etc.

You need to log in via php my admin and then select export.

That’ll work! So what is the purpose of the XML export in WP if the database export does it all?
