Support » Plugin: Business Directory Plugin » How can I deactivate most fields?

As stated before (Like 3 weeks ago…), I’m hacking the plugin because I only need it to allow users to post Blogger templates.

So basically I won’t need these fields:

    – Business Phone Number
    – Business Fax

Which files do I have to edit to delete those fields.
Is there any way of hacking the plugin without losing the changes after an update? Something like a PHP override.

When updated, do I lose any custom file that I create under the plugin’s folder? That’s because I want to create my own translation, it will be in pt_BR.

I know I’m being kinda annoying, the thing is that there is too much little to finish my work.

    Hi spikespiegel,

So all fields are editable for the directory (for the most part). You can edit, delete or add fields as you wish. Go to Directory Admin->Manage Form Fields and delete these fields if they are not serving your current site. They aren’t present in a file or template, they are part of the core plugin’s metadata that defines what to display. This is the proper way to manage them.

When you update the plugin, the translation file will be lost if you placed it under wp-content/plugins/business-directory-plugin. This is because WordPress complete deletes the plugin on upgrade and then unpacks and installs the new one over it. This is their setup, not ours. So you need to re-upload your translation each upgrade. Be sure to save it in a safe place in between!
