How can I completely delete Custom Post Type UI to make WP run proper again??

    My test post types cannot be deleted. Then I wanted to get rid of this plugin, I deactivated it (and took it off the plugin folder). Now wordpress (4.6.1) does not run proper anymore: new posts always appear on the homepage, even though I put the post in other categories but not in the homepage category.
    To try again deleting my test post types, I installed Custom Post Type again from a fresh .zip-file, and interestingly enough the afore set up test post types appeared again; this shows me that Custom Post Type messed my WordPress up.
    How can I get rid of this problem? Thanks for help.

    While I won’t rule out the possibility, I’m admittedly not sure how CPTUI would bork up that much of an install, given that we don’t modify any queries for posts at all, we primarily just set up our pages and do some options fetching on init for the actual registration of our user-saved options.

    Regardless, give one of the methods above a go and let us know.

    Import of {“”} has deleted my saved options (“test post types”) – great. Thank you for this. Strange that new posts will appear on the homepage, though I had chosen a different category. I’ll go on to solve this problem and will give a feedback.

    Oh sorry, my problem was not caused by Custom Post Type UI, and my WordPress system was NOT “messed up” by it, as I thought. I had posts which were assigned to different categories, one of them the category homepage. I wanted to filter those and took them out of the category homepage. But WordPress continued to publish them on the homepage – apperently WordPress does this automatically – I didn’t know that.
    So I used the pre_post filter, but set to homepage (I just wanted the posts which were in the category homepage). Now I excluded the non wanted categories instead and as result I just got the posts of category homepage.
    Sorry I suspected Custom Post Type! Thanks for your help.

    No worries, sometimes it’s hard to discern what causes what.
