and am using UTF-8, but i cant use my local language,
when i use unicode text, its display like ????.

But, in your server ( hisubash.wordpress.com) its work perfectly.
that means i can set the languge ( ta-tamil)

How can i change my whole WP like that local language WP?
i mean everything wants to change to local language like that same ur server WP.

  • hi there, this section gives a lot of advice on language files,
also by googling tamil translations for wordpress, i think you will find several.
    hope this helps.

woow. its great, thanks a lot for ur fast reply,
ill check and let u knw,

Hello, I did all, but again my posts are displaing like ?????.]
    wat shall i do?

    You did what?
When displaying ????? or other similar things – it is always a problem with encoding mismatch.

I’ve installed WP 2.6 through Fantastico and got the same problems with UTF-8. Writing a post in Ukrainian and Russian Languages resulted in Question Marks like that: “?????????? ??????”. I tried everything and nothing helped, so, lastly, I downloaded the same WP 2.6 from your web site (wordpress.org), installed it and everything worked perfect!
Just curious: Is that the bug in Fantastico or problems with my Hosting? (Because I completely reinstalled WP through Fantastico several times that did not help…)
But hopefully everything works fine now with installation downloaded from wordpress.org. If You’ve got problems use that instead.

I have the same problem with my WP. It replaces my text in Persian with question marks. Does anyone know how it can be fixed? I mean a way other than re-installing WordPress.

Ok. The problem is the way the database is set to Western languages instead of UTF-8.
Use this plugin to fix the problem:
